EVERY WAVE JEWELRY EMPOWERS INDIVIDUALS TO REDEFINE THEMSELVES BEYOND SOCIETAL LABELS
When I was a young girl, I used to wear a lot of hand-me-downs from my male cousin (I’m a female). I never gave it any thought. I was a bit of a “tomboy” when I was a kid, but I honestly don’t think that had much to do with it. I wore his sweatpants, jeans and t-shirts. I didn’t see it as “boy clothing,” but rather just clothing.
Historically speaking, there has always been a boy/male section and girl/female section in stores. In those sections you can find clothing, shoes, jewelry, accessories and more. But not everything has to be labeled “his and hers.” Some things can be easily worn and enjoyed by either gender.
Let me introduce you to Every Wave. A jewelry line that creates gender-inclusive jewelry designs. What that means is that their products can be worn by men, women, non-binary, and others.
Here is a little more information about Every Wave.
EVERY WAVE crafts jewelry that empowers individuals to redefine themselves beyond societal labels. Based in New York City, EVERY WAVE offers gender-inclusive, quality sterling silver inspired by the essence of water — ever-changing yet uncompromising at its core. Just as water shapes landscapes over time, our jewelry aims to transcend boundaries and forge new frontiers, enabling individuals to express their unique identities. EVERY WAVE stands for the power of self-expression, believing that jewelry is not just an adornment but a bold statement of identity. It’s about empowering wearers to redefine themselves beyond societal labels and constraints.
“Every Wave is for ordinary people who are extraordinarily distinctive,” says Yinnan, “those who might have been historically excluded from the fashion industry will be able to find their unique piece at Every Wave.”
By making its avant-garde, gender-inclusive design, and good quality jewelry affordable and accessible to more people, Every Wave is committed to pushing the industry for greater equality and inclusivity.
I received a ring from Every Wave to check out for myself. I received to review the brand’s Prismatic – Blue Moonstone Sterling Silver Ring. I chose this ring because I love the idea of a prismatic stone that changes color when the light hits it differently.
The ring arrived houses in a nice velvet drawstring bag.
As you can see from my photo, the ring is not a complete circle. There is a small gap in it to make it adjustable. The ring is adjustable from sizes 5-8.
Since I have a larger/thicker ring finger, I have been wearing this ring on my pinky finger. I didn’t have to adjust it (it’s currently a size five). From what I can see the ring is easily adjustable.
I love that the stone in this ring changes color depending on how the light hits it. It’s not a mood ring but rather the color changes depending on the lighting.
I have old, wrinkly, chubby hands and fingers. I couldn’t get a photo of the ring on my finger that I was happy with. Instead I used a prop hand that I have (it’s actually a zombie hand, but you can’t tell from the photos – ha ha).
I was only able to get a pink and clear photo of the stone (meaning the stone it’s self looks clear in one photo and pink in another). I couldn’t get a decent photo of the stone with it’s blue color. It’s a lovely shade of blue (a sky blue).
Here is a photo from the Every Wave website (copyrighted to them) that shows the ring with the beautiful blue hue to the stone.
I like the setting for this ring. My husband says it looks a bit “gothic” or like a “rock and roll” style. I’m totally okay with that. I honestly think it goes with anything I wear whether it’s a tee shirt and jeans or leggings and a work blouse. It’s a very flexible design.
You can see from the design that a male could also wear it. The design does not scream “female” or “male.” It’s simple a lovely ring that anyone can wear and enjoy.
All the designs on the Every Wave website are simple, yet very artistic. Here are a few more examples (PHOTO SOURCE – EveryWaveNYC.com).
I think this jewelry is great for couples too. Partners (male/female or others) can share the pieces with their significant others too.
The jewelry is very affordable too. The pieces would make great gifts.
